Kibabii Diploma Teachers’ Training College has witnessed tremendous growth in students’ enrolment in the seven years of its existence. Currently, the enrolment stands at 744 students, 454 of whom are male while 320 are female. Of this number, 238 are third year students currently on teaching practice. To be able to serve this increased population of students, the Teachers’ Service Commission has continued to provide the teaching force. At the moment, the College has a total of 63 lecturers (30 male and 33 female). In addition, the college has a total work force of 60 Board of Management employees (42 male and 18 female).

To ensure harmonious co-existence among all these groups in Kibabii Diploma Teachers’ Training College, the college administration has come up with various codes for all the groups. We have:

  1. The Code of Regulations for students.
  2. The Code of Conduct and Ethics

In the case of TSC employees, in addition to the college Code of Conduct and Ethics, they are also required to conform to the TSC code of Conduct and Regulations.

The role played by the Students’ Council in enforcing the College Code of Regulations for students is commendable. The Students’ Council Disciplinary Committee works very closely with the office of the Dean of Students in ensuring offending students refrain from bad acts. The office of the Deputy Principal and Indeed the college Disciplinary Committee in turn works with the office of the Dean of Students and the SC in dispensing with disciplinary cases brought before it. It is, however, envisaged that all students will comply with the provisions of the Code and embrace guiding and counseling as an alternative way of handling their issues.
